In rabbits the Anika anti adhesion product INCERT works better than Seprafilm. biz.yahoo.com But as you can see from those preclinical results they are still in the early development of this product. Therefore I don't think that it has much influence on the current success of Anika as a company or a stock.

About anti adhesion products in general: I think that they will eventually be considered as essential part of surgery to avoid being sued by pissed off patients that have avoidable problems due to adhesion. But I am to far away from the field to have any idea when anti adhesion products will be standard.

The most important product right now is probably the ORTHOVISC therapy for the treatment of osteoarthritis of the knee. There they have competition from Biomatrix (BIOX) who already has an approved product.
