While I don't argue with their analysis (Briefing.com), it must also be pointed out that these are the same people who strongly cautioned against DELL as being overvalued when the stock was trading in the mid-60's last year. At the same time, they touted companies like ATML and WDC, both of which are trading near (or at) their 52-week lows. While their fundamental analysis may be sound, but their feel for the market is unremarkable. Then again, I've yet to find anyone who truly does have a knack for the market (barring those with inside information, of course!).

As for CPQ Monday, the obvious scenario seems to be a few points downside, but I wouldn't be too surprised if it drops just a bit or even reverses. If Monday is the end of the quiet period for details of the DEC merger, then it's possible that CPQ's negative guidance of Q1 earnings may be tempered with some positive comments about the merger tomorrow. Only time will tell...
