I guess they said the same thing about telephones. The functionality of PC's is going to get further integrated into the net. And having local storage is not unavailable, just extra. In terms of bandwidth, I just got a cable modem, doing downloads at up to 300k/sec for $40 Canadian per month including unlimited time!

The concept is valid and the way of the future, just when and who is unknown. Here are some interesting quotes to chew on ...

"Who in their right mind would ever need more than 640k of ram!?"
- Bill Gates, 1981

"There is no reason anyone would want a computer in their home." --Ken
Olson, president, chairman and founder of Digital Equipment Corp.,
1977

"This 'telephone' has too many shortcomings to be seriously considered
as a means of communication. The device is inherently of no value to us."
--Western Union internal memo, 1876.

"Who the hell wants to hear actors talk?" --H.M. Warner, Warner Brothers,
1927.

Good day to all ... David
