Saw that news on CNBC just before the open. I sold on that and what I smell to be a correction soon. Too many warnings from the bigger companies. JBIL may do OK this quarter when they announce, but forward could be weak as contractors decrease orders. Looking to get back in on any dip into the 30's.

I wonder if the changed rating is due to the significant price appreciation it has experienced in the last 90 days. It hit a low of $29 some time ago. At least in the short run its reasonably fully valued. Viewed from a longer term perspective (i.e., longer than the next six months) its a great company and therefore still a good buy.

JBIL is an interesting stock.

SLR is downgraded, but JBIL dropped more:

SLR -2 1/4
JBIL -2 7/8

Solectron report next Monday, March 16th after the close
and we will know the full story then but it looks like it has
something to do with the following.

Computer Makers' Inventory Levels Swell

techweb.com

. Compaq has 20 times more Pentium and Pentium Pro
desktop-PC inventory than Hewlett-Packard, and five
times that of IBM, according to spot checks of seven
distributors' online systems. More specifically, Pentium
and Pentium Pro desktop-PC inventory from the spot
checks indicate HP has approximately 9,500 units in
stock while IBM has 46,000 desktops. Compaq, by
comparision, has 200,000 units.

. Wall Street's wrath has been swift. Financial analysts
from Merrill Lynch and Salomon Smith Barney
downgraded Compaq's rating last week in response to
reports of building inventory levels in the channel.
