does anyone besides me think dell is a buy here?

Tim,

I think you are onto something. Dell's CEO has frantically tried to distance Compaq's problems from Dell's. Just last week, I was in the market for a new laptop, and after doing a bunch of research, I chose Dell again (my current laptop is also a Dell) because of the high value these computers carry. Furthermore, Dell caters not only to the general public, but they have huge accounts with businessnes, schools, etc., probably more so than Compaq. Even though Dell is falling in tandem with Compaq today, I guess the real question your asking is whether 140 (now 70) was too high to begin with. The problem in answering this question, is that Dell has consistently defied gravity, logic, etc. in its gallop to where it currently stands. So I guess, the puppy will continue to rise, while taking a few breathers, like today. And such breathers may by the only buying opportunities this stock will afford. (excuse me if I make no sense)
