Looks like the market to it as a hint. BAY went from down a point to up 5/8. Bay sure is getting a lot of attention these days. Atleast its on people's radar screens. If it can prove its strength, we'll see much more upside.

When a company gets into a situation where its quarter is backend loaded, it typically brings about a number of superficially negative consequences.

Things that could possibly go wrong this quater would include:

1) Light revenues and exceedingly light EPS. March is typically the time frame when many corporate budgets get adopted for the year. But this year some of these budgets may be late in getting adopted due to increased concerns about economic outlook, especially in light of the Asian crisis. Late budget adoptions could very easily spell delayed networking purchases by IST & MIS departments.

2) DSO's increase. Since approximately 50% of sales are expected to come in this month, there will be a sharp rise in days' sales outstanding.

All other thins being equal, BAY still remains to be one of the best values in the networking arena. I will follow this post up tonight with a detailed comparision of BAY, ASND, COMS, CS, CSCO.

Once we are past April, this stock should have plenty of upside in it and I intend to be purchasing the stock below 27 1/2.

Wayde.
