or the realization (after several quarters of missed earnings) that earnings growth is declining Or the realization that earnings themselves are declining, not just growth. Trailing 12 mos earnings on the S&P 500 is actually lower now than it was a week ago and that was lower than three weeks ago. This week, Barron's reports it at $39.89, down from $40.25 reported last week and $41.56 reported two weeks earlier. Must be nice to be insane and making money rather than sane, cautious and confused. Bob
