Two things -

1) I would like to second the suggestion that the compose message window have the same params as the thread message windows (ie - same font and text window width)

2) How about making the 'To:' and 'From:' words 'hot' so that clicking on them would send a private message to the person after the 'To:' or 'From:'...

Thanks & keep up the good work!

How can I post a message to myself within a thread?

All I can see how to do is "reply". Sometimes I
just want to post a general post.

Thanks
Michelle

Jeff, I see a lot of people talking about how they would
like to change their names, like after they been on for
a while they see all those catchy handles and wish they
had done that. ( myself included )
More often than not someone tells they to e-mail Jill,
but I don't think most of them do.
We are so grateful for SI we don't want to be a pain,
or we embarrassed to ask for a name change, or supthin.

Give some thought to how people could when they change their
profile adopt a new handle "user name" that would tag their
posts. Yet not really have to re-register them.
Like maybe you could add a "user name" handle type thingy
to the profile, options that would take it a step beyond
changing the e-mail address.
Thanx
Jim

I didnt even know this forum thread existed till by accident I stumbled across it. So maybe what SI needs is some sort of master index or table of contents one can scroll through. (Maybe there is one and I just havent found it yet)
To be honest like alot of members I spend most of my time on one forum and have my computer set up to take me to it immediately so maybe there could be a feature incorporated on each forum called SI news which would deal with SI features etc usefull or of interest to others. A dictionary of common used expressions like ROTFL would be helpfull to new members with instructions of how to get bold italix etc.
I also think you folks should publish a book "THE BEST AND THE WORST OF SI"
