PC ServiceSource Announces Agreement With Dell Computer Corporation to Perform Notebook Repair
Business Wire - August 04, 1998 07:47
DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--August 4, 1998--PC ServiceSource(tm) (Nasdaq:PCSS) today announced an agreement with Dell Computer Corporation (Nasdaq:DELL) to provide in-warranty repair for Dell's(R) Inspiron(tm) line of notebook computers.

PC ServiceSource will offer same-day repair service for all in-warranty Inspiron notebook models. The systems will arrive in the morning and be repaired to Dell's specifications for shipment back to the customer for next-day delivery. PC ServiceSource's technical expertise, advanced systems, and strong relationships with major shipping carriers allow for the quick turn-around time.

Dell will have the ability to monitor every stage of the repair process using FastTrack, PC ServiceSource's proprietary online system. This Internet-based application will allow Dell to obtain real-time information on the repair status of each customer's machine, thereby allowing them to provide an immediate response to customer inquiries. With an average repair time of under five hours, Dell has the ability to monitor what parts are being replaced, when, and by whom, while the repair is actually taking place.

Bill Shea, Senior Vice President, OEM Services at PC ServiceSource stated, "We are very pleased that Dell selected PC ServiceSource to meet the critical repair requirements of its Inspiron notebook customers. We have the engineering experience and systems in place to uphold Dell's outstanding commitment to customer service."
