They finally get it Pete.

How can you miss the numbers if you make nothing in the first place?

The internet is abound with talented investors trading IRA's direct from the office.

To preserve wealth they are trending toward the safety of these no profit issues.

pete, someone,I think Barry Hall, referred to me as the "doom meister" i like that well in order to live up to that honor here is a prediction the Nasdaq will have a record point drop (well over 50 pts) by May 1 due to earnings disappointments and troubles in SEA . I will refrain from making doomier and glommier long term forecasts fearing a referendum from the bulls to suspend me from SI for sandbagging prosperity-g- Mike

Pete, "I will be honest with you" on a few issues. -ggg- [my apologies to the con wing of the used-car salespersons.]

Do ever feel like giving respect to a used car salesman who is trying to rip you off? I know I wouldn't! I listened to a lot of conference calls in the last few years. Three characters stand out as particularly touty to me - Pfeiffer, Dell and Chambers. Jim Morgan of AMAT used to be a fairly straight shooter. So are HWP and MOT execs. I didn't listen to HWP and MOT calls recently, but I bet they have changed their tune a lot - like Jim Morgan.

Anyway, the point it that John Chambers sounded like on in the last 2 years I have been listening to him. In the last two conf calls he was using his language to keep an upbeat tone all the time. They never mentioned the fact that the quarter was back-end loaded. Now in the SEC filings they reveal the truth. Also, he did mention that Europe is strong. Now they tell different things to the SEC.
