alright: (adv.) A form of the phrase all right

It goes further to explain: the spelling of alright is not accepted in formal writing as taught in the schools. In the materials on which this Dictionary was based, it occurs only as an example to be avoided.

My Oxford is buried deep in boxes, anyone have it close by? I would bet that it isn't even there.
