To All,

The recent difficulties of INTC and COMPAQ have nothing to do with either AMD or Asia. The main reason is the delay of Window98, partly due to the Justice Department's interference of Microsoft business. Both business users and home users have no reason to buy new and more powerful machines. However, this will change as soon as Microsoft start releasing Window98, and it should happen soon if some loser companies just keep the government out of the high tech. industry. Any further interference will be bad for the whole industry, not just Microsoft.

James,
Anyone who has been is business and done forecasting and purchasing knows well what happens when you order the wrong product in the wrong percentages.

Please xplain...RE:"
What happens when the market moves beyond the AMD production
capabilities, where does Compaq order from "

Do you mean when Intel technology out paces AMDs? It already does...
Compaq will simply buy from Intel if the demand is there. Just a case of getting the right balance.
Jim
