The reference design for the lean client calls for embedded Pentium processors at a minimum;

Perhaps I'm wrong, but I take "embedded" to mean a low power-consumption (i.e. low heat-producing) device.

Maybe you forgot about the mobile Pentium's? A 166 tape pkg might make a great workstation processor...
