Where did you get this information? It is my understanding that AIB is the only pure internet bank operating and that all others are either additional services to traditional banks or PC banking which is not really internet banking.

It just doesn't seem likely that there are over 4000 new start up internet banks out there planning to go online over the next 9 months.

I am aware of only 1 other internet bank which has been in development for the past 2 years and will be going online later this year. The OTS has told them that they are moving through regulatory hurdles much faster than average.

Please clarify or post your sources.
