Yes, originally CopperGold was an Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASCI).
I knew as soon as TI announced the C6X that the CopperGold ASIC was dead. Numerous delays only confirmed my suspicions that MOT was working on a programable DSP.

MOT over the years has looked like Bullwinkle
