You keep talking about CPQ's record..
Paul of Intel thread fame wrote an article on Intel, details a bit of Compaq's history as to straying away.

I just did a comparison chart on INTC/CPQ stock performance for
1997 to present, looks like CPQ did MUCH better over that timeframe

No SHxT !, Intel is in the same place it was 9 months ago, you don't need to go charting to figure that one out. Now go chart 1996.

Since you say you own CPQ, would you prefer they pay *more* for their chips, or *less*??
If I want to pay less, I buy a smaller inferior engine( i.e. AMD), no thanks, I want a Cadillac (Intel). And as for owning CPQ, i would prefer they make a GOOD pc and right now I am shopping for one and you know what, I won't buy a Compaq, its Dell or Gateway 2K.
