I have to agree with you and trader dave. I must say I'm very disapointed with this stock and it will take a lot to win my trust back. This is a story book stock that traded on high p/e because of great high-flying promises, but can they keep it up. As soon as they falter, they look overpriced. OK, so the question is are they stil high-flying or did they slow down and get boring. Did Kai lose his touch. I dont know but the recent announcement of painter 3d disappoints me immensely: here is a 3d product. All new pc's by end of 98 wil l 3d accelerators as standard. So you'd think great, MCRE is on the cutting edges, soon all productiovity tools will have 3d texturing and mcre is a leader. As far as I can see (I'd have to call them to be sure and I'm in England now), youd be wrong. The guys at MCRE use macs and Macs dont have 3d accelerators chips or at least not as an oncoming standard. So they dont seem to know about them and all 3d in past MCRE products and I think in this one too is done by software, totally ignoring your 3d hardware if you have it. ANy decent PC video game wil detect your 3d accelterator chip and use it (iwht much better results) and it will say so on the box 'voodoo compatible, s3 Virge compatible' etc. MCRE dont say any such thing on their press release and my guess is that thay are still living in the dark ages and didnt hear yet that PC uses at least expect 3d redering to use their accelrator cards for any kind of half-decent speed performance. I THOUGHT all this would change with the intel i740 3d chip. MCRE were to have been one of the first to come aout and say 'our product are optimised for the i740 3d protocol' or for some card using it. So here is their first 3d product since i740 came out. Deathly silence. I'm hanging in there but this and the arogant comments of Kai on ZDnet last summer make me think this company may have lost it. They seem to be doing more of the same instead of being on the cutting edge. And the same isnt enough since microsoft and others are encroaching the video editing (2d) market, its too old. Just my thoughts only. Could change with somthing exciting from the company. Also, am not saying painter 3d is poor. I asusme its good for what can be done with software alone. Shahn
