BALTIMORE (CBS.MW) -- Frank Cappiello is probably the only Wall Street
professional who has his name on a family of mutual funds and an Italian dish,
Eggplant Cappiello at Chiapparelli's in Baltimore.

He's also one of the few Wall Street money managers who is sticking with
battered Intel Corp. (INTC) and other technology stocks. Loudly and proudly
sticking with them. [snip]

Hi Sonki:

I think you did get out of ELNK and AOL a bit too early, but it is ok as I believe the valuations will soon catch up to them and the prices will come down dramatically. Another one you may want to monitor is PSIX. I bought this last week at $7 and change and sold today at $9 and change. Maybe buying back if it comes to the low $8's. But am not sure.

As for buying back a little of my SUNW shares today at high $37 (actually just 2 cents below $38!), I think SUNW will go down a bit lower to perhaps $33 area (and hopefully not below that!). The main reason the stock is going down has all to do with perception and the very high possibility of Sun not meeting the expectations due mainly to Asia, Y2K, and their increase spending in R&D. At $33-$38/shr SUNW is a bargain and I am planning to buy 80% of my shares I had sold earlier in this range. Right now, though, I am just sitting on 70% cash (actually 66%-67% after todays buy of SUNW), and 30-33% stock. But I tell you it is a very strange feeling not putting this cash into work and have it sit there in money market. For the past 6-7 years this is the first time I have this much cash in my portfolio.... Hopefully when the idiotic sell off of high techs begin to really kick in, in 2-3 weeks (if not sooner) I can totally 100% be in stocks again.

As for ELNK, I do not have the stock anymore (regretfully!), and sold too early due to high valuations. But ISPs and anything that has something to do with internet seems to be the darlings of Wall Street at this time. I, however, expect this to reverse very shortly as their earnings come out. Valuations are simply beyond the wildest imaganitaions! As for changing back your ISP to EarthLink, it is a great idea. I am using AOL for home and would love to change to EarthLink but they do not seem to have an easy installation for NT 4.0 (which I am running at home).

Also if you are in buying for a new PC, you may want to consider gateWay 2000. If you buy a PC from them they provide all your ISP needs for only $16.95/mo!

Regards,

Addi Jamshidi

Dear Sonki: I was surprised by the huge one day drop in SUNW. Only thing I can find to back it up is a press release about some software firm working with INTC to utilize the MERCED chip and their software to replace SUNW's systems, claiming faster and cheaper. Do you know anything about this? JDN
