I think Merrill is wrong. I bought CPQ calls in Jan 2000 today and sold the puts. I also sold FLEXF Oct puts. And will probably purchase the calls. Its my way of buying the stock in the future at no net cost now. Of course if things dump I am in trouble but I am a cockeyed optimist and am happy to buy the stock at these prices especially when I don't have to pay for it until OCT or in Jan 2000.
