Why would a good God create evil? I have no idea. I am clear that real evil exists in the world, however. Perhaps men create evil. Two words - Free Choice. God gave us the option to choose between the two. Why would he give us the option? Love. Do you not give children the right to make their own choices because you love them? Satan, also called Lucifer, thought that he, one of the most powerful angels, could become like God and was thrown down and has been in rebellion ever since. See Isaiah 14:12-17 for the reference.
