Is there any likelyhood that LU would ever consider buying cien? Michelle, 1. No such thing as a "bozo" question. Everything here qualifies as brainstorming. 2. On a product basis, it makes sense for LU to buy ASND, but not CIEN. The former has a range of products (RAS/RAC and ATM) that LU cannot fully match. In contrast, LU has its own DWDM products (at least in the lab). 3. On a technology basis, it is conceivable that LU might find that CIEN has something to offer. I just don't know. All in all, I think that a LU/CIEN deal would not occur given that LU has other fish to fry vis-a-vis product categories. Gary Korn Gary Korn
