The SCORE rate (percentage of day rate required to justify speculative building of rigs) is posted at the GLM.com web site. It's below 100% but inching its way higher. If interest rates or building costs were to rise, the SCORE rate would drop, all other factors equal. While the SCORE rate for drillships is supposed to be below 100%, some drillships are under construction, suggesting that with a signed drilling contract, the contracted rates are economic enough to justify building the ships.
