Sometime " one knows just enough to get themselves in a whole lot of trouble" I think a couple of our most recent subscribers to SI fit this mold. Maybe the Yahoo thread was a better for them.

Actually, the original announcement was that ALL shipments would include copy of OWS (the workgroup engine). Users could choose to upgrade to ODS or choose another vendor's (i.e., Oracle) engine as an extra cost option.

The "back-off" was to not ship IFMX OWS on everything, but to state that IFMX was the preferred engine. This was changed to "preferred on Unix" after the Microsoft port for NT was done.
