[mystery telecom operator]

Hi Shlomi

back to the to be announced "major western European telecom operator" who will be demonstrating adsl with orctf at Cebit..

some speculation... unless there is a real surprise (like bt or Telefonica Spain ), would expect that this telecom operator has been semi-publicly trialing orctf... which would make them one of five... ptt telecom, telecom italia, deutsche telecom, france telecom, or Swiss PTT... maybe sweden?

think the most likely/interesting/promising is either the italian or german connection (or both:stet)... a trial/semi-deployment announcement to go with the demonstration would be sweet...

and yes i did notice the voclf/fujitsu announcement... good news for all parties...

no doubt you saw today's news of cisco's purchase of netspeed... lots of angles there... the telechoice commentary is interesting... including the implied note that dsl and ip telephony may be complementary...

"...Recently, however, US WEST has announced Cisco as a major partner in its Internet Telephony and other Internet initiatives. This merger will allow Cisco and NetSpeed to closely intermix their offerings in that marketplace.."
telechoice.com

with vocaltec and orctf, fujitsu would also seem to be in the same position (and maybe with better products)...
