Pressure everywhere? Like where? Starfire? "Fat servers" ? That's where bulk of earnings come from. Thin client hardware coming up fast on the outside? No earnings yet but future? Java, ditto. Let's get real.

It is quite misleading to lump UNIX and NT workstations together
since there are traditional UNIX markets which do not use NT
based workstations. I won't be surprised if SUN's workstation
shipment becomes higher this years than last. This is due to the
fact that they are slaughtering HP and SGI on UNIX based machines.
Let's not even talk about servers, where SUN sales are brisk
and continue on a excellent growth rate.

BTW, fresh off the rumourville. SUN's low end workstations
the ultra 5s and 10s shipment might exceed their target for this
current quarter by 25%.

Couldn't agree more - managed to get out in the mid 40s (accidentally
'cause I need the dosh for another investment! - I'm not usually
that lucky!).
I'll keep an eye on it, but the success HP's having (cf recent NT/UNIX
workstation marketshare increase via Dataquest Mar 9th) means Sun is
seeing pressure everywhere.
