49 is half of 98 ---- Windows 98 ???

so the person did not want to buy 980 of them, so they split their order into 2 parts.

490 might have been "reported" twice, or perhaps someone is trying to get 1,000 but had to split the order.

I know of no rule (offhand) that comes into play once someone trades a lot of "500", if you follow what I am saying.

Come to think of it there is a rule about an individual and his/her total ownership of options.

At least there was when I took the test years ago, I have to dig and see if I can find it.

EDIT.

Nah. The rule, in MSFT's case, would be a limit of 8,000 contracts.
So that's not it.
