My "source" on the press release was right on the money. I posted on March 3:
Message 3587376
that the press release would come out soon and it could be just an extension, which is exactly what happened.

<<AND the issue isn't about me Henry. It appears you have difficulty answering simple questions. Obfuscation seems to be a habit of yours. You do a great job in posting relevant info regarding the science of ligand and "already" issued news items, but it might be wise to curtail your meager attempts to prognosticate lgnd events. IMO, let the events happen first and then post them. Then everyone will be happy and we will relieve ourselves of these petty skirmishes. >>

I can read news facts in the news publications after they occur. I for one read this thread on a daily basis to get possible prognosis of Ligands future. Yes, I realize that the prognosis given here may not always prove to be 100% accurate, but I too know they have helped me make money in Ligand.

> With that said, let this issue drop. The horse is dead. You can stop beating it.

You don't really expect to get the last word on this, do you?
(Bernie, please view this as a rhetorical question)

<<Yes, i'm aware of what I wrote and I'm aware that I forgot that I wrote about the trading range. But, I didn't ask you about the trading range. It was a comment of mine not a question. My main concern was your assumption that news would come out about the LLY deal which didn't happen last week. I t seems that you can't admit when you are wrong, especially when it's something so trivial like a press release.>>

I think that you forgot that you forgot what you wrote. Here's what you wrote:

"Did ligand take the money and run or did they select a drug? Some seemed to be confident that we'd learn of their decision this week. I guess not.

BTW, it's very interesting to see LGND stay steady in a huge bear market (thurs) and in a huge bull market (today). AS I stated earlier, lgnd looks to be forming a base bewteen 14.5 and 15.5 range when it has never really stayed in this price zone for a long period of time. Anyone have any comments about this?"

The first question was rhetorical (you answered it immediately). Your question "anyone have any comments about this?" looked like a question to me and the "this" sounded like the "14.5 and 15.5 range" (since the second paragraph discussed the "range") which I responded "Watch what happens on Monday!" and LGND opened at 15 15/16 on Monday.
