Baird-
At these prices for SLB(under $71) the consolidation is heavy. Over 3 million shares in the first two hours....that's over double normal volume...and the price is off only $.38 from yesterday. I was thinking SLB might break $70 but I'm not sure now.

As I understand it, the remaining 3 subs are too small for the conversion. The Shelf 4 will be announced soon as far as I know. I'm not familiar w/ what schroder is saying. NE doesn't have any of their jackup K's expiring until late '98. Although some expired in Jan and Feb and have been renewed. NE doesn't comment on the dayrates that it receives. They're usually 1 to 3 yrs in duration. The next major wave of K rollovers comes in mid '99.
