I don't know the current Price breakdown for their line up.
But normaly when a new chip comes out, it cost $1-1.2K. The P II 333 is selling below that because I am seeing PC @ 2199 with it. That PC should be @ 2400-2600. Until PC100, I don't see a large market $1000 processor from INTC.
Until this happens, DELL does not have an expencive chip to wrap a desk top around and hence a high ASP.

Once you go over $2,299 or $1,899(guess) w/out Monitor, all you are doing is adding Periferal stuff Ram,HD,SCSI,DVD,ect to increase capacities. The computing power is relatively stable. ie, it is still a 333Mhz. 6 months ago, the Base high end Prosessor started will into the $2000 range.

Look, I could be completely wrong on all of this, I just can't find the comment that makes me go Hummmmm....Never thought of that.
