Alan,

From what I gather right now, Cisco is providing the ATM network for USWest and the last end--Netspeed's ADSL (after they won it over Pair) completes the end to end there. As far as I know, this 236 is pretty expensive to pay for one telco and the possibility of more. Of course, things may change soon.
If someone may pick up Wstl, I think someone like Asnd and NN may start looking. But NN seems like they are more focused on turning around at the moment to make a spectacular acq...but Asnd will look with open eyes today at whats going on. Both Asnd and Csco have giant market caps currently...if csco got wstl for their ba and gte stuff, then csco would be daunting, not just a contender in the the ADSL arena overnight. Then again, csco likes those privates. If Wstl doesn't lose Ba and gte, I wonder what you could value Wstl at just for these right now?

just rambling like a billygoat,
pigboy

Alan: $236 million for an "ADSL only" company that has 3 customers. I think that's a fair price.. until later.
