Gdichaz - Didn't you hear - the CDMA phones aren't colorful enough to sell in Europe. <G>

Don't know the real answer so this is all I could come up with. Hard to say whether it is a legal problem or just unwillingness to go against the norm. After all, there are network advantages (and retail advantages) for using the GSM system in Europe. To try to be the only provider pushing the CDMA interface one would incur some substantial marketing costs that might off set the technical advantages.
