As I had a free trial to thestreet.com before (think it was October 1997), I have no doubt that Mr. Cramer gets all sorts of informative news. I won't discount him a bit because he was with GS and ML. He has a good track record but, in my opinion, his gains are more from fluctuations from frequent trades. I also believe that he has a reactive style. Correct me if I am wrong because I haven't log on to thestreet since then (wasn't too impressed).
