Recall Trimble switched to 5-4-4 and thus the 2cnd week of the third month doesn't actually start until 3/14.

Arun-
In this post from Motley Fool (AOL), the general tone of David's conversation with Barbara Hall helped lessen my concerns about a warning.

since nobody else reading this thread has found out anything and since I wanted to know more about what was happening at company to see if support would likely hold or not, I called Barbara Hall at Trimble. I basically asked two questions: are you shipping as expected? And, are any orders coming in? I'm not completely sure about what she is allowed to say or not say although I'm sure she knows quite well and what she said was that they are
shipping as they had planned during this first quarter and of course a lot goes out the door in the last two weeks as it does with all tech companies. The balance of the cugr shipments will not all be shipped in the first quarter but over the next couple of months--to me that means that perhaps some of the higher margin stuff may be shipped out in the first quarter. You decide what it means to you. Next, car nav is mostly shipped to Japan and she
expects it to be flat this year. Timing devices will ship to Nortel next month (April). Discussed that Datum is down the tubes and she said Trimble has not been affected and is doing fine in that area. Also, they are talking to everyone (baby bells) re: new business. she went over how survey and agriculture will do better this year, etc. No specifics there and frankly, I'm more interested in what's upcoming in the next two months from my
technical side at this point. Besides content there is form. She sounded confident, upbeat about the compnay and didn't use words like "but" or "however" or phrases like "we'll have to see what happens in Asia" or any other qualifiers. She didn't try to encourage me or give me hope. She didn't sound like any hope or encouragement was needed that the things that were happening were good and spoke for themselves. Most notably to me was that when I
asked about capturing other of Datum's business she concluded with "of course, we are talking to everyone (timing devices baby bells)--stay tuned" What I read that to mean is that potentially positive news will be forthcoming--when? One can't say. In time for first quarter? One can't say. But...it had the tone of good things to come. Now maybe that's her job and that's the spin she supposed to convey but I took it as a positive.

How do I interpret this? Again, this is a very good and a very nervous place to buy. One can wait and if you follow it closely you can buy after 20 5/8, 21.25, 22, 22.5 to the upside. this would be on bigger volume. Or one can buy now and set very close stops. Hope this was of interest, it was to me.

p.s. lately I feel like I've been talking to myself so tell me to keep posting or tell me to shut up. best, david g.
