for those that like to keep track of 'the big picture'. s&p 500 stats increase against 1997 previous high (dec 8th) - 8.4% increase since jan 1st '98 - 9.3% increase off of jan low (jan 9th) - 12.0% not a bad market for 500 stocks whose earnings growth is targeted at less than 5% this year. it will be interesting to see how hi up is up.
