It's hard to predict where CPQ will head in the short-term. I would like to think it has pretty much hit the bottom. The reason why we didn't get a bigger sell-off after friday is because all the big boys had bailed long ago. This DEC thing could be a problem; however, MASON has already publically said DEC servers are down due to the merger. Hopefully, Compaq will come out with a master plan with DEC that impresses the analysts.

I wouldn't worry too much about this quarter. Compaq is trashing this quarter since it wasn't going to be a great one. Take a look at ORCL. This stock is up 50% from its lows. Maybe CPQ can do the same.

Lehman Brothers on Compaq's pre-announcement and the industry.

Dulane: Here is something you might find interesting or not. The research note is about Indirect vendors Vs Direct Vendors or should I say Indirect vendors vs Dell.
