<<penni, who realizes that her circumspective and deliberative habits are boring and aggravating as hell, but what can you do.>>

But they do NOT include the offal roll. Do they?

If they do, may I have the movie rights?

yes, I suppose you're right. making policy isn't like making breakfast. Weasel-Java, and a little kerosene for the Wheaties is more of a rote experience.

Anybody got a pair of 10s for these three 5s?

A poster is, in theory, subject to the scrutiny of the entire community. Any post that generates enough complaints is likely to result in some disciplinary action. What happens, in practice, is that some posters complain continually, some never complain, the complainers are always doing the same thing, running to Jill.
What we need is an appeal process for disciplinary action that is visible and within the community.

We promise we won't swear. (# one rule broken daily here)
We won't attack any poster.(# two rule broken daily here)
We won't troll, depend on it.(# three rule broken daily here)
We won't "copy" we will link.(# four rule broken daily here)
When copyrighted material is posted, rather than linked, SI could suffer, all of us, I could die tomorrow and SI wouldn't suffer, so could you. When complaints are about rules one two and three, lets make the process visible in the community. Why should anyone at SI management have to get involved in the process of sorting out who is "out of bounds". What we need is a thread where disciplinary action that SI undertakes can be published. SI can send a copy of the JillKill to that thread when it happens. Make this thread a members only thread, no "just readers". It should provide some lively discussion and cause people to think twice about complaining. Community members could judge the effectiveness of their complaints and members would receive feedback from other members,

I would also suggest that everybody stop using the word whiner, this poster could take serious issue with you cause he isn't.
