Head over to the YHOO thread for more info on German manipulation of this stock.

Last Friday on a national TV business show, a newsletter/fund manager came out and said that SCMM would be buying companies in SE Asia. When pressed to name the companies, the manager (a Mr. Prior) refused. A poster who is a specialist on the floor of the Dusseldorf stock exchange has revealed that this fellow is under investigation by HUST the German SEC. Also, two weeks ago Mr. Prior put a buy on this stock just as a large shareholder (wonder who?) called back all shorted shares and precipitated the run-up.

Now, I am not a lawyer and can't tell you if any of this is legal or not, but as I can sure call it manipulation. But then that's the market.

This reminds me of PRESSTEK and CABOT.

Info on SCM stock manipulation. The stock trading and run up has been
in Germany. Until recently very small volume and 20% price increases.
No large trading blocks. The large German investors have been
trading amongst themselves in order to run up the price. With the
lockout about over and insiders able to trade their stock, why did
the company resort to a secondary IPO allowing insiders to sell 2.0
million shares? Answer: Because no one is buying blocks of the stock.
The only market is amongst themselves and a few individuals caught up
in the hype.

This stock reminds me of Centenial Corp. Their stock was manipulated,
the price was run up by insiders. That balloon eventually burst as will
this one. The only reason the shorts have not worked is the Germans have
had greater resources to buy the stock. But as the Hunt Bros. learned
the hard way, the market eventually prevails.

Worldwide patents/monopoly - GET REAL. The only good technology the
company has is that which they stole from Gemplus and then paid them
off with stock prior to the original IPO.

My advice to you is lock in your gains while you can. You have
nothing to gain by hanging on but a lot to lose.

This stock has great potential and appreciated more in Germany where there are many more smart cards. Imagine some day smart cards are as much prevalent as credit cards. Short sellers will have heart attack on this stock.
