DW, I have to agree with you. My reason for believing price drives the market is in analyzing my own feelings. Like if I hear bad news about a company, I check the price. Oh its up an eighth on light volume. Other people must think the news isn't that bad after all. I'll hold. BUT, if the price is down a bit, my first (emotional) response is SELL. I try hard to fight my emotions. I know the business enough to believe in the intermediate to long term success. Fenton can trade all he wants, reducing his profits with necessary collars and watching the stock like a hawk. It's his job. I have other things to do.
