To All: This is my first post, I want to give this link to a good article on the CPQ-DEC merger. This article does not make Compaq look very good with the merger coming. I felt this way before reading it, and even more now.

Here is the link (this is my first attempt at giving a link - hope I get it right)

upside.com

Thanks everyone for all the good info on Dell.

Regards,

John

Paul, At least for the toll-free conference calls, it costs the company incremental money for each caller/participant. More importantly, knowledgeable questions by analysts (or investors) are an important part of each call. Having a totally open call would be unwieldy and a poor use of management time. When I can't or don't listen to a cc, I'm satisfied to hear the replay. A website real audio/video version is OK, too. And with improving vr I think we'll get same day transcripts.
