They are late, but they can afford
to be. Cisco will be the leader until they make much more serious mistakes than being to
market 6-12 months behind the competition. Hey, let the competitors take the arrows and
get beat up. Cisco will learn from these mistakes and succeed with products that address
customer issue more squarely.

Gary,

I suppose we disagree.

Just my opinion. You can let the arrows fly now.....

Not my style. I learn from your thoughts as well as others. It posts like yours that make me think.

Glenn

I agree, Gary. Cisco's strategy has been to let other companies take the risks. They come in after they know where the market is headed and either develop their own product or buy the company that happens to be leading in that area. It's worked well so far.

RE: IP Switching

I agree. Csco need not be the first, just the last one standing. Like the old saying, "You can always tells the pioneers by the arrows in their backs":-)

Ciao,

Daniel

Gary, not to be redundant but thanks for a great post.
Also I don't remember who it was but about 2 mo. ago someone said split your networking money between csco and lucent.Great advice, if your still around take a bow, identify yourself and let us know if that advice still holds due to the recent stellar run up in lucents price. TIA Jim
