irthrifty -

Great - now balance that with shorts in GTW, AAPL and SUNW.

I would have added IBM, but you're already long that one.

Seriously - we're up 11% in two months. This is sustainable?

I know that bull markets get overbought and stay overbought, and that standard rules don't apply. But I'd rather be hedged in this market than outright long.

irthrifty;

Best of fortunes to you. It is going to be an interesting ride, that is for sure. I am still watching the tech sector still. I have a very small position on WD, a stock I actually didn't favor over SEG and QNTM, and a recently purchased position on ZIGO. I look to buy SEG, QNTM, MEMC, and INTC. For an Asian play I am watching SIDBY and MBB. I will also likely buy VECO again. I was in and out this year for a 50% gain. Other then these stocks I have a small holding in a medical stock, and a couple of finance related issues (FAMCK and BSC).

Best,

Stitch

Best,
Stitch

Hmm, you bought DELL, is it?

I find it interesting to note that DELL, in the #2 position, has a market cap greater than CPQ, in the #1. The investor base has cast their vote against Goliath in this match up. I believe they have voted well.

But I also believe these two are both kind of over inflated, and I am currently not long either. I have open orders for heavy buys of INTC at 60 and 70. I find it interesting--and disturbing--that significant bad news from CPQ has not reined in the bulls.

ORCL on the other hand is a pretty nice little money cadge. They may get roughed up a bit transitioning to NT though, but I've weathered ORCL storms in the past. Switching costs in this business are pretty stiff, and I am a firm believer in Geoffrey Moore's chasm theory of technology markets. Their customers will keep ORCL at the head of the class, for the foreseeable future anyway.

Never let your emotion bias your trading. Whether the markets are up, or whether they're down, the ice-men make money.

God bless,
PX

Re: Moo

Well, ORCL reported decently after close yesterday with a nice spike and broad market gains this morning. Arne't you glad to be a bovine instead of an ursine? <G>

God bless,
