My initial look into the lawsuit question has come up as follows:

I spoke to a few people who I believe to be experts when it comes to sfsk as a company, not as a stock. The consensus was the lawsuits are not important. I also read over the latest Smith Barney report from 2/98 and there is no mention of any risk from pending lawsuits. Where did you actually read about lawsuits directed exclusively at sfsk. One source said he did'nt believe there was any of substance at this time.
