I love it... Apple endorses Java for Windows... That's like having a vegetarian endorse a good steak joint...

It's hard for me to see the point of Java if it's restricted to running on Windows clients. Real Java will be capable of running on devices which will not even resemble computers, palmtops, or pdas - let alone run Windows. Microsoft is simply trying to convert Java into a mere platform-specific programming language, and I have confidence that the market will see through this and immediately discount Microsoft's product as a very nasty, watered down brew, for which you have to pay a considerable Windows tax.
