The more Luongo can get people thinking "it's Siebel versus Vantive," the better for Vantive. (Siebel is clearly the company to beat right now). I have a feeling Tom has just aided and abetted Vantive through its acquisition of Scopus; it makes it look like Siebel's primary foe is Vantive (not SAP, Baan, Oracle). Did anyone see Vantive's ad in Computerworld: "Vantive passes Siebel"? It looks like Luongo & company are repositioning Vantive more towards SFA.

There's clearly a lot of room for VNTV's share price to improve right now, given the gap between its P/E and SEBL's P/E. If Vantive can pull in some large deals involving SFA, it can back up its claim of being a credible competitor to SEBL. Still a lot of work to do, let's hope Q1 can back up the nice story we are hearing from VNTV.

But in any case, SEBL's on a rampage, regardless of what VNTV does. SEBL is growing the enterprise SFA market on a tremendous rate.
