I read that fortune cover story on Gold posted here on this thread. Thank god I didnt pay for the issue because it added very little value added information which wasnt already covered by countless financial writers and newswire services. I learned nothing but the same tired old story about how their is no industrial use for gold(for the most part) and how central bank supplies will overhang the market for years to come, and that the capitalization of the gold companies in total is less than the market cap for Home Depot. Okay, if I know this already then its already in the market. Thats right, its priced into the market at we speak. So tell me something new which isnt priced into the market. I found the article a big overblown summary(a regurgitation) of all of which I have read before. Very little value added read. That, in combination with the fact that it is a cover story, inclines me toward taking a contrary view. There is nothing like a magazine cover story to point out the obvious. If financial newswriters had any real value added in the form of insights, wisdom, or sage advise, they wouldnt be writing about it-they would be making money on it.
