Karl van Miert says no way.......................This roadblock just won't go away.
Just some Qs that occured to me as I was reading the ARM paper.

Rememer that INTC bought DEC's fab and chip biz. Does that mean that they have StrongArm? Perhaps INTC will really need it?......................The most powerful of these cores, the StrongARM, is a joint development between ARM and Digital Equipment. It combines ARM's low-power architecture with Digital's high performance processor design expertise and CMOS processor leadership to produce an embedded chip core with supercomputer class performance.

Will they do this in house, or could they need someone like CUBE? Especially if INTC own the StrongArm.
..............
It is designed for use with MPEG 1 or MPEG 2 decoders. (ARM7500 dissipates typically 688mV normal operation during an SVGA monitor.)

The next stage of integration will see the ARM processor combined on chip with both an MPEG 2 video co-processor and an AC3/MPEG audio co-processor. This will eliminate the need for separate MPEG/CP memories and deliver a further $90 cost saving on the DataQuest cost model. Together with the integration already described, the component cost for a set-top implementation will be reduced to between $250 and $300. ...............

CUBE can you make a daughter card for this processor?
