NEW YORK, March 10 (Reuters) - Prudential Securities'
technical analyst Ralph Acampora is once again forecasting the
Dow Jones Industrial Average could hit the 10,000-level this
year, after racheting back this forecast in December.
Accampora predicted on March 2 the Dow could might hit this
mark by June or July 1998, depending on stock market activity
over the next two months, a Prudential spokeswoman said.
"From a top-down technical analysis, the market looks like
it has gotten ahead of itself," Acampora was quoted as saying
last week. "But the bottom-up picture is more rosy. We are in
the midst of a broad-based quality rally that could take the
Dow past 10,000 by June or July of 1998, depending on how the
next two months play out."
Acampora, who said in December that the Dow might not hit
10,000 until 1999, told the brokerage firm the stock market now
seemed able to absorb weakness and that downturns should be
used as a buying opportunity, the spokeswoman said.
"The (stock) market is in better shape than it was three
months ago," he was quoted as saying.
He was not immediately available to comment.
Acampora also told CNBC television on Tuesday the airline
and retailing stocks were seeing a technical breakout, but he
also liked cyclical companies such as International Paper Co
and Nucor Corp .
The Dow rallied on Tuesday to close at a record high,
finishing up about 76 points at 8643. "The market is very
broad-based and there is good buying coming in," he told CNBC.
Among technology stocks, Acampora told CNBC he particularly
liked Dell Computer Corp and Microsoft Corp .

Guest what? The earnings announcement was been moved back to 4/16 according to an e-mail tonight from Kristina in ASND IR. The 4/9 date came from an e-mail from this same person.

I have no explaination for it. But was e-mail tonight with the change. Kristina has seen me at two of the conferences, and had responded to a number of questions earlier in the day and I guess decided to correct the date as soon as she knew.

I hate confusion! It makes everyone worry, and usually needlessly.
