Here's an example that looks for a breakout from basing with 20% range for the last month. You can enhance it to suit your needs. It's based on a breakout scan I use in QuotesPlus. I'm translating it on the fly as I type it in. Hope that syntax is OK. It will give you an idea, anyway.

Ref(HHV(C,25)<1.2*LLV(C,25),-4) AND
{High > 25-day max before yesterday}
H>Ref(HHV(C,25),-2)) AND
{Price < $30}
C < 30 AND
{Close > Avg Close for the past month}
C > Mov(C,25,S) AND
{Volume is greater than 150% of the preceeding 180day average volume}
V> Mov(V,180,S)*1.5
