This isnt wasting bandwidth because it is pertinent to the market and the way it is effected...

A market move is a market move...be it an hour or a day...

Do you not think that people on this thread are effected by hourly movements...just check out the minute by minute blows given on this thread throughout the day....and how people respond to the "latest" news...

Do you think the market would respond once a report came out of the death of the King of Saudi Arabia????? Do you think you might want to know about it as SOON AS POSSIBLE....

Do you think the market responds hourly to a report by Joe K about a possible merger...stock split....FDA approval etc etc

And why do analysts bother taking phones calls from CNBC reporters...or showing up on the show....
Why do you see Presidents and Chief Financial Officers showing up on CNBC after earnings are announced... or at any time for that matter.
CNBC is a heavy weight in the financial market.

Whether you want to admit it or not is irrelevant...but the market is effected by CNBC....

The traders are effected by CNBC

and I will leave you with this....
Visit the floor my dear (or the visitor's balconey) and check out the TV, I won't
argue about it.

I dont need to visit the floor my dear to know that CNBC is on at the NYSE. I know it already.
What is the purpose of having CNBC on at the NYSE?...they dont need it for quotes..
I dont know what your point is about the sound..Even if the sound was on no one could hear it.....they have to shout enough as it is to be heard without CNBC blaring...

So if they dont need it for quotes and they cant hear the sound...why is it on?

Its on because it can effect the market EVEN WITH NO SOUND.

Roman Boy:

Why don't you cut Lisa some slack? Sometimes, no most times, your inflated "expert" analysis of the opinions of others sticks in the craw. You have hardly been one to seek the high road in repartee -- generally trashing anyone that disagrees with your views. If you really do know as much as you profess, it might be instructive to emulate the Big Dog -- posts with information, humor, and more than a touch of class.
