It seems that the chip Motorola is sampling is more robust than the one they originally were developing back in '96. That's good for Motorola and also good for Westell. I was pleased with its low power consumption. I wonder how that compares to TI/Amati?
According to an article bill c. referenced:

they say the motorola chip will be available in commercial quantities by June. I hope that is June '98!! Westell needs those chips to sell, and so does Motorola.
